Board Minutes

 

Council met in Regular Session with all members present.

Minutes of the August 25, 2008 Regular Meeting were read and accepted.

Motion by Feasby to pass at its second reading, ORDINANCE 2008-10; AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AS TO THE ZONING OF NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY TO THE VILLAGE OF PAYNE, PAULDING COUNTY, OHIO.  Seconded by Speice.  Motion carried.

Dawn Smith was present and informed council she is running for the County Recorder's Office and presented her qualifications for the position.

Fire Chief Krouse presented volunteer firefighter applications for Robert Werfal II and Benjamin Collins.

Motion by Wober to accept Chris Wilcox as a volunteer firefighter.  Seconded by Miller.  Motion carried.

Mayor reported the Village received a DEFA loan up to $219,800 at 0% interest for 5 years.

Speice reported Sprint cellular phone services will be added to the tower located in the village.

Motion by Speice to suspend the rules.  Seconded by Feasby.  Motion carried.

Motion by Miller to adopt RESOLUTION 2008-Q; A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE AMOUNTS AND RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY TAX LEVIES AND CERTIFYING THEM TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR.  Seconded by Childs.  Motion carried.

Mayor Speice reported Railroad Street, is not shown as a street but as an alley on the Paulding County Engineer's plat maps.  The Mayor will do additional research in the village records to determine if the thoroughfare is a street or an alley.

Council agreed to having a village taxpayer informational meeting for the new Police Levy on October 15, 2008 at 8:00 P.M.

Mayor Speice reported a group of area residents are meeting on September 15th to plan for a Fall Festival in the village.

Motion by Schoenauer to pay the bills.  Seconded by Wobler.  Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn by Speice.  Seconded by Schoenauer.  Motion carried.
