Department of Natural Resources - Forestry Division - Tree Assessment
The Ohio Department of Natural Resouces, Forestry Division, consisting of Stephanie Miller and Haley Belisle assessed every tree in the Village's right-of-way to determine its health. Below are the assessments of each of those trees. Currently the Village Council is working to form a committee to help design a plan to both remove trees that have a high risk of failing but also planting new, sustainable trees compatible for each right-of-way.
Attached is the Tree Assessment Report provided by the Forestry Division. The Tree Risk Worksheet and the handout with definitions for the worksheet.

Urban Forest Plan
The Village of Payne has worked on a plan to help remove deteriorated trees and add new trees to the village. The plan is set to take place over the next 3 years. For this project the Village has applied for the ODNR OHIO’S URBAN FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM in hopes to increase the overall canopy coverage and improve the quality of life for the residents of our community.
