Chicken Survey
The zoning committee and council are conducting a general survey to gather information on whether to amend the zoning ordinance to allow for chickens. The current zoning ordinance as it stands prohibits chickens/poultry/livestock within the village limits under section 929. Due to the increased interest in owning chickens, Zoning and Council would like to conduct a survey of the people. Please note that ultimately the zoning ordinance and the rules and regulations set by it are decided by council and zoning.
Applications can be picked up at the Village Hall: 119 N Main St., Payne, OH 45880. Applications or resumes can be dropped off at the Village Hall or Mailed to PO Box 58, Payne, OH 45880

The Village of Payne Zoning Ordinance DOES NOT ALLOW "Farm Animals" or "Poultry" in the Village Limits. There will possibly be a variance issued for 4H animals, but the Zoning Inspector needs to be contacted prior
